Reading fiction doesn’t help us escape from the world. it helps us live in it.

English Tutoring

I help high school students develop strong writing skills, critical thinking, and confidence with literature. Whether your student needs support with essay structure, literary analysis, creative writing, or reading comprehension, I meet them where they are and build from their strengths.

My approach emphasizes clear communication and authentic voice, skills that serve students well beyond English class. Having taught diverse learners, I'm experienced in breaking down complex assignments into manageable steps and helping students who struggle with traditional writing instruction find their own path to success.

Common areas of support: Essay writing, literary analysis, research papers, creative writing, reading strategies, citations, and etymology and vocabulary.

History Tutoring

History comes alive when students can connect past events to their own world. I help students develop historical thinking skills, understand cause and effect, and engage with primary sources in meaningful ways.

From ancient civilizations to modern events, I guide students in analyzing evidence, understanding multiple perspectives, and making connections between historical patterns and current events. My classroom discussions about propaganda, social movements, and cultural change have always been student favorites, and that same engaging approach carries into my tutoring.

Common areas of support: Historical analysis, research skills, essay writing, test preparation, study strategies, and project development.

Executive functioning Support

Executive functioning skills — organization, time management, planning, and focus — are often the missing piece for students who are capable but struggling. As someone with ADHD myself, I understand these challenges from the inside out.

I work with students to develop personalized systems for managing assignments, breaking down large projects, creating sustainable study habits, and building self-advocacy skills. My approach is practical and non-judgmental, focusing on what actually works for each individual student rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.

Common areas of support: Assignment tracking, study scheduling, project planning, note-taking strategies, test preparation, communication support, body-doubling, and developing self-monitoring skills
